I consider myself a painter, not a potter, but I got a little (o.k. a lot) side tracked. I attended NSCAD University and studied painting, drawing, and education earning my BFA in Fine Arts and BEd degree specializing in Art Education. While attending NSCAD I decided to take a few clay classes so that I would be able to teach at a school with a kiln. That's where the side tracking began. I ended up staying at NSCAD a little longer than expected and have been working in clay ever since I graduated in 1995. After graduation I lived in Texas, Calgary, Nigeria, and Nova Scotia, teaching, creating and learning as much as I could about clay. I love that clay is such a flexible medium with never ending possibilities. There is always something more to learn and explore.
I create functional and decorative wheel thrown and hand built pottery.
My work is always changing, always developing and always one of a kind. Please visit my gallery and take a class and share my love of this truely amazing material.
Currently, I am completing construction on my brand new studio & gallery over looking the beautiful Bay of Fundy in Hall's Harbour. I am participating in Studio Rally 2013.
I teach wheel throwing and hand buiding workshops in my 1800sqft. studio overlooking beautiful Hall's Harbour. Please see my website for details.
