I am, I suppose, a traditional potter. I make functional pottery, designed with use in mind, to hold a simple pleasure. I throw nearly every day, as it is an essential part of my way of life – to create, to enjoy the process of creating, and draw inspiration from my home, my garden, and the wonderful community of Tatamagouche. I encourage visitors to my studio and enjoy sharing the pots, flowers, stories and laughs.
I have four electric kilns that are entirely powered by our local wind turbine and two gas-fired kilns, which are always a source of anxiety and amazement. Experimenting with new designs and glazes is always challenging and fun.
My work is available direct from the studio and website and through a number of Canadian galleries. My Moss Scuttle is well known in the worldwide wet shaving community. I also supply wholesale and welcome commissions.
