Melody Hillman Ceramics
Eastern Shore, NS
I have always enjoyed crafting and the arts, and while searching for a new creative outlet, tried my hand at pottery for the first time after moving from Ottawa to Nova Scotia. I have been making pottery for five years now and primarily create functional wares that can be used in everyday life.
Interested in experimenting with a variety of throwing and hand-building techniques, clay bodies and glaze combinations, I am drawn to the unknown and unexpected results that can occur. I find it inspiring that there are so many elements to experiment with when creating ceramics and I respect the fact that making pottery is a commitment to lifelong learning.
I have completed several rounds of formal instruction at three different studios in the HRM and now create work at my home studio on the lovely Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia.
